Lynn Stevens currently serves as the Director of Minority Affairs for the Office of Governor John R. Kasich.  In this role, Lynn is the Governor’s liaison to Ohio’s minority community and spearheads the Governor’s outreach efforts to the minority community.  Lynn represents the Governor at various meetings and events and takes issues and concerns directly to the Governor.  With the Governor’s direction, Lynn helps resolves issues of importance to the minority community and connects the minority community with the Governor’s administration to resolve many issues of concerns. Minority business initiatives and community-police relations are top priorities of the Governor and Lynn devotes a great amount of time and attention to these areas.

Prior to joining the Governor’s staff, Lynn worked for two Members of Congress- Former U.S. Senator George Voinovich and U.S. Rep. Steve Chabot of Cincinnati.  Lynn worked as a Community Relations Coordinator and did statewide outreach to the minority community and she was a caseworker who served as a liaison between federal agencies and individuals who needed assistance in resolving problems involving those agencies.

Lynn has served on various committees and boards, including the Ohio Grandparent Kinship Coalition and the Ohio Bicentennial Commission’s African American Advisory Council.

Lynn is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.  She received her Bachelor’s and Masters degrees in International Affairs (1994) and Political Science (1998), respectively. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Columbus Christian Center.  She is a married and is a mother of two special needs children.  Lynn enjoys volunteering with her church and organizations serving children with disabilities.
