Request for Qualifications for Professional Design Services
Columbus City Schools announces a Request for Qualifications for engineering and landscape architecture services for the Renovation of the Playground and Parking Lot at Gables Elementary School. The scope of the work is limited to providing new hard surface playground space and to revise the current parking circulation to minimize conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles. The total project budget is $400,000.
Submittals will be evaluated pursuant to ORC 153.65-691 based on the following criteria: professional qualifications of key members of design team, relevant past work of prospective firms, other applicable consultants, quality control procedures, response to CCS Community Inclusion Policy, (Local Economic & Disadvantaged Enterprise goal is 20% participation), location of primary firm relative to project locations. Fees will be negotiated. The district reserves the right to reject any and all statements of qualifications and to waive any informality, irregularity, or failure to conform to the instructions contained in this public announcement. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held by the Housing Authority at the AMHA Administration Building, 100 West Cedar Street, Akron, Ohio 44307, on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.
Bidders may gain access to the interior of the building(s), in order to assess the work, pursuant to the viewing schedule included in the specifications.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee which shall be in the form of either: a) a bond secured by a surety company acceptable to the U. S. Government and authorized to do business in the State of Ohio. The amount of the bond shall be for the full (100%) amount of the bid, plus alternates; b) a certified check, cashier’s check, bank draft or irrevocable letter of credit. The amount of the certified check, bank draft, irrevocable letter of credit shall be in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, plus alternates. The Bid Guarantee shall insure the execution of the contract and the furnishing of a method of assurance of completion by the successful bidder. The assurance of completion shall be: (1) a performance and payment bond in the penal sum of 100 percent (100%) of the full amount of the contract; (2) a twenty percent (20%) cash deposit; or (3) a twenty five percent (25%) irrevocable letter of credit.
NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT FOR AFFIRMATIVE ACTION TO ENSURE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT (Governor’s Order of January 27, 1972)

The Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to re-advertise our bids, and to waive any informality in bids received whenever such rejections, re-advertisement or waiver is in the best interest of the Housing Authority.
No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority.
