Columbus Zoo issues bid notice for Australian Roadhouse Renovation

Sealed proposals will be received by Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Via E-Mail by Karen Huebel, Director, Theming & Interpretive Design, Planning Department, karen.huebel@columbuszoo.org, until Monday, June 13th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. local time, at which time and place all bids will be virtually publicly opened and read aloud for all labor, material and services via “Team Meeting “necessary for the:

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Australian Roadhouse Renovation

All in accordance with documents and any addenda thereto, prepared by OHM Advisors, Architects for said work.

Contract Documents may be obtained for cost from Key Blueprint at 195 East Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH  43215 (614) 228-3285 or online at www.keycompanies.com. All Contract Documents will be forwarded shipping charges collect. The successful bidder is responsible for all additional sets they may require. No partial sets may be purchased. Bidders must purchase the entire set of drawings.

Questions pertaining to this project are to be in writing / email and addressed to: Paul Schmitzer – OHM Advisors – paul.schmitzer@ohm-advisors.com. Deadline for submitting questions is June 3rd, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. local time.

A construction management software will be utilized for this project (Procore).

Estimated cost of base bid construction is $448,000.00

A voluntary pre-bid walk-thru will take place on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium.  We will meet at the main entrance to the zoo outside of the Edwards Education Center.

A single contract will be awarded for this Project. Construction is scheduled to start June 27th, 2022. All construction work must be Substantially Complete by November 28th, 2022. Contractors are required to be licensed and/or prequalified in Delaware County.

Bidders shall note that the Prevailing Wage Rates published by the Ohio Department of Commerce are to be complied with throughout the project.  Bidders shall also note that the Rules and Regulations on Equal Employment Opportunity (Executive Order 11246 & 11375) shall be made a part of this contract.  Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex, or national origin.

State of Ohio Fund 7031 or 7035 monies are being used to assist construction and that relevant State requirements will apply. 

No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids.
