COLUMBUS, OH—A dozen Central Ohio businesses were cheered and celebrated at the festive 8th Annual OhioMBE Awards ceremony recently, OhioMBE publisher Ronda Watson Barber announced today.

- Best Nonprofit – Teacher of Men
- Best Nonprofit – Green Environmental Outreach
- Business Hall of Fame – Damita Brown
Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Cornelius Green delivered the keynote address at the sold-out ceremony at Huntington Park. He congratulated the awardees and recalled the successes during his career as a Buckeye as well as the racism directed toward him at a time in his life when all he “wanted to do was attend school and play football.”
This event celebrates Ohio’s small and minority-owned businesses and their advocates while providing networking opportunities and meetings with procurement officials after the luncheon, which is well patronized by governmental, banking, construction, and Ohio businesses.
More than 28 businesses were nominated for Top MBE, Top FBE, Top Family, and Top Veteran owned business. The People’s Choice Award is voted on by the public.
