Auto Mechanic 

The Franklin County Engineer’s Office is looking for a full-time Auto Mechanic to assist in the maintenance of our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Here is What You’ll Do: 

Performs major automotive repairs and installations; overhauls, tunes-up engines,  rebuilds parts, maintains all County equipment including: autos, trucks, dumps, cranes,  rollers, pavers, loaders, small equipment, trailers, etc. (diesel and gasoline engines);  may work in areas such as fabrication, electronics, etc. Fabricates parts and accessory items for motorized equipment modifications; does miscellaneous body repair work for glass, fenders, hinges, bumpers, etc.; sands and paints metal. Operates special tools and equipment: air-powered tools, electronic diagnostic equipment, welder, cutter, etc.;  does tune-ups and preventative maintenance on various equipment. Writes work orders indicating parts used and needed, work performed, etc.; orders parts as directed; works in tire room. Required to be on call for snow and ice emergencies. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range: 

The pay range for this position is $29.72 to $35.07 per hour.
