Established in 2011, Electronic Systems Consultants (ESC), is a Columbus, Ohio based provider of fire, suppression and security systems. ESC is a certified minority and veteran owned small business that focuses on full system integration services to include system design, installation, inspection, repairs and monitoring services for the fire, suppression and security industries. ESC covers the widespread commercial needs of the Ohio market as well as balancing a regional footprint for federal and state contracts.
ESC was founded on the principles of integrity, quality and entrepreneurship. Coupled with over thirty years of industry knowledge and experience in electronics, suppression, safety and security, we pride ourselves on our established, strong working relationships with regional fire and security consultants, engineers, general contractors and electrical contractors which has strengthened our ability to provide our end-user customers with all-inclusive custom design and installation service. ESC provides a premium turnkey service allowing our customers the freedom to choose from a variety of systems such as security, access control, fire alarm, suppression, nurse call, perimeter fence security, correctional facility locking control and video visitation systems, asset tracking, mass notification, media delivery, command centers and security solutions. Additionally, we offer a full range of preventative maintenance and service contracts on our complete product offerings.
ESC’s market strategy is to provide a total system solutions in both large
and small commercial projects, as well as government installation and service projects.

As founder and managing Partner for Electronic Systems Consultants, (ESC), John Larkin brings over thirty years of fire safety and integrated security system experience to his certified MBE, EDGE, and DBE Company. Established in 2011, ESC has gained a reputation in a very short time as a respected systems integrator and service provider in the central Ohio and surrounding areas.
John Larkin’s career in the industry began as a fire fighter and continued as a fire inspector while serving in the United States Air Force. After a nine year military career and obtaining an associate’s degree from City College of Chicago in Fire Science Technology, John made the seamless transition to fire and security sales in the civilian business market. John’s resume touches on a variety of positions in sales, sales management, consulting and system design. With stints at such industry giants as Siemens and SimplexGrinnell, John is uniquely qualified to blend his industry experience and understanding of various systems and products to allow ESC to support clients both large and small in commercial and government markets from a national footprint.
John oversees the day – to – day management of both sales and client relations with a unique focus on Federal contracts nationwide as well as providing support to the State and local bid markets for fire and security system sales, service and systems monitoring.
As an entrepreneur in this industry, John is sought after by general contractors, businesses large and small, electrical companies and state/city government because of his stellar reputation and expansive level of knowledge. As a proud native of Columbus, John hopes to one day become one of the largest integration companies in central Ohio and strives towards providing jobs and opportunities to people from within the I-270 corridor.
