The City of Columbus Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Ohio Bankers League, and Park National Bank are the recipients of the 2020 OhioMBE Awards Economic Development Award.
The group included Dr. Beverly Stallings-Johnson, Damita Brown (City of Columbus ODI), Michael Adelman (President & CEO Ohio Bankers League), and David Trautman (CEO Park National Bank). The alliance was brought together by OhioMBE Publisher Ronda Watson Barber.
The organizations collaborated and because of their efforts, last spring over 150 small and Black-owned businesses certified with the City of Columbus were able to secure the SBA’s Payroll Protection Program loans. This infusion of funds made a large economic impact on the minority business community in Central Ohio.
The OhioMBE Awards recognizes Ohio’s Top MBEs, FBEs, Family Businesses, Veteran Business, and their advocates. The sixth annual award ceremony will be held virtually on Oct. 28. It will be followed by a small business and youth business startup conference.
