Water Division Assistant Administrator
This position will assist the Water Division Administrator with overseeing and directing operations at the three Water Treatment Plants, Water Distribution Control Center, Watershed, WQAL and Engineering Technical Support Group. It will assist with planning, coordinating and directing the operations and maintenance of water supply and treatment facilities, water distribution system facilities and watershed properties. Assist with directing staff engaged in preparation of plans, studies, cost estimates, oversight of construction projects and monitoring water quality and regulatory sampling to ensure the Division of Water meets their regulatory requirements. Assist with developing and implementing strategic goals related to future water supply and treatment planning and administrative policies and procedures. Also, assist with preparing and monitoring both the capital and operational budgets. This position may represent the Administrator in meetings with City officials, City Council and the department Director, as needed, pertaining to administrative matters.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, engineering, or closely related field and five (5) years of managerial experience in an engineering group, utility distribution system, or related field. Substitution(s): A master’s degree in business administration, public administration, engineering, or human resource management may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. The salary range for this position is: $101,109 – $151,590 annually.
