Sealed proposals will be received by Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Via E-Mail by Karen Huebel, Director Theming & Interpretive Design, Planning Department, karen.huebel@columbuszoo.org, until December 13th, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. local time. Proposals will not be publicly opened.
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium –
Ohio Wildlife Conservation Center/Habitat Hollow Renovation
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is seeking design services to renovate the existing Habitat Hollow “My House” interactive space. The renovation will reduce the public space inside and devote 75% of the interior building to new animal holding of fresh water species such as Hellbenders, Eastern Plains Garter Snakes, Burying Beetles and so forth. Exterior updates to the building envelope should also be planned in addition to coordination of interior messaging.

Deadline for submitting questions is Friday December 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. local time. Deadline for submitting the Proposal is Wednesday December 13, 2023 at 12:00pm
Estimated cost of the project including all design fees/construction costs is $1,200,000.00
It is advisable to visit the existing site, please contact Karen Huebel to set up a time for a walk through.
Design is estimated to begin January 2024 with Construction anticipated to begin May 2024. Final completion for the project is anticipated to be May 2025.
The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all proposals.
