Sealed proposals will be received by the BOARD OF EDUCATION, City School District of Columbus, Ohio, Office of the Construction Manager, Smoot Elford Resource, 1907 Leonard Ave., Suite 150, Columbus, OH 43219 until Thursday May 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM and will be opened and read publicly immediately thereafter for the Africentric PK-12 Athletics Package, according to the plans and specifications, dated April 17, 2014, prepared by HKI Associates. The total estimated cost for materials and labor for Bid Package #200 – General Contractor is $7,400,000.00. Plans and Specifications may be secured at the bidder’s expense plus shipping costs from ARC Document Solutions, 1159 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215, (T) 614-224-5149, (F) 614-224-2583. Public inspection may be made at the McGraw Hill Construction Dodge / Builders Exchange of Central Ohio Plan Room, 1175 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215; the Minority Contractors Association, 1393 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43203; and Smoot Elford Resource Office, 1907 Leonard Ave., Suite 150, Columbus, OH 43219; PH 614-251-1039, FX 614-258-1562. A pre-bid conference will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the following location: Smoot Elford Resource, 1907 Leonard Ave., Suite 150, Columbus, OH 43219. Bids will be received through the State’s electronic bidding system at https://bidexpress.com until 2 pm, local time, on May 8, 2014, when they will be reviewed and tabulated, for a single general contract for the new Africentric PK-12 Sitework, which is an OSFC program project (Project # – SFC 140367), based upon Contract Documents prepared by HKI Associates, Inc. Submit all questions to Jairo Alza, Smoot Elford Resource (T 614.251.1039; jalza@sjvcm.com). A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 AM, April 24, 2014, at 1907 Leonard Ave. Suite 150. Columbus, OH 43219. LEDE. EDGE and domestic steel use requirements apply to this project. The total estimated construction cost for the work is $2,165,000.

Submit an electronic facsimile of the bid guaranty with the electronic bid form, as described in the Supplementary Instructions, and provide an original unaltered guaranty to the School District Treasurer within 3 days after the bid opening. The Bid Guaranty must be in the form of either a Bid Guaranty & Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid (including all add alternates) or a certified check, cashier’s check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw its bid within 60 days after the bid opening. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids, and to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder.
