Rep. Mallory Calls for New Opportunities for Barbers
Wants to create opportunities in Southwest Ohio
CINCINNATI – State Rep. Dale Mallory (D-Cincinnati) announced today that he is working with leaders in the community and public sector to create new opportunities for barbers in Southwest Ohio.
“Barbers are a cornerstone of our community,” said Rep. Mallory. “They not only provide an essential grooming service, but provide men and their sons with a way to foster companionship and discuss current events. I want to provide barbers with a way to establish a network in Southwest Ohio to facilitate job creation and community cohesion.”
“Southwest Ohio is in desperate need of a concrete foundation for barbers,” said Howard Warner, Executive Director of the Ohio State Barber Board. “Rep. Mallory and I have been working with The Urban Barber Association (TUBA) to create a business network to strengthen the community through education and community based programs. We would like to see barbers helping barbers and barbers helping the citizens within their community.”
Rep. Mallory plans to hold a summit to discuss new opportunities for barbers in Southwest Ohio on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 6:00pm. It will be located in the Theodore M. Berry Children and Family Learning Center, which is located at 880 W. Court Street, Cincinnati, OH 45203. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
