MEETING NOTICE: Columbus Board of Education to Hold Special Work Session on April 25

The Columbus Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting/Work Session on Thursday, April 25, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the District’s downtown Columbus Education Center, 270 East State Street. The meeting is scheduled to run to 7:00 p.m.

During the meeting, the Board is expected to hear a presentation on and discuss a proposal to transfer up to $30 million from the General Fund into a dedicated capital fund for the purpose of infrastructure improvements at three schools: the former Brookhaven High School site (current home to the Columbus Global Academy at Brookhaven), the North High School site (current home to Columbus North International School), and the Dominion Middle School site (future home of a new middle school language immersion program and dedicated Global Academy middle school program).

No vote on the transfer or infrastructure proposal will be taken at the meeting. A vote would be expected at the Board’s next regular Business Meeting on Wednesday, May 8.
