Women in Construction: Rita Brown
A passionate advocate for parity, opportunity and advancement for women and untapped resources in STEM, STEAM and the building industry, Ms. Brown is a nationally award winning former journalist, small business owner and building industry professional. Additionally, she has served as guest lecturer at Wayne State University on behalf of the nationally award winning Young Entrepreneur’s Academy teaching our youth about business related topics.
Rita Brown brings 30 years of industry and entrepreneurial experience to every project she collaborates on and is a recognized professional specializing in structural and misc. steel services, diversity and inclusion business strategies and universal green design applications.
Her technical construction industry skills include being adept draftswoman and she is proud to be a 3D modeling early adaptor; a skill which she has parlayed into being a standout in her niche. Long an advocate for parity and recognition of proficiency for women and other un-tapped minorities, she has since developed a second area of expertise in designing and facilitating strong, authentic goal driven exposure and recruitment programs. Why? Because results matter.
Family is priority for Rita. Authentic relationships and collaborations are the only ones she invests in. Her dedication to the construction industry and her many volunteer commitments are integral to her professional success.
