AMHA issues ITB for Lawn Care Maintenance

INVITATION FOR BIDS 

Separate sealed bid proposals for each Bid Package listed below will be received by the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority at 100 West Cedar Street, Akron, Ohio 44307 until 2:00 p.m. local time on MONDAY, MARCH 8, 2021 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for:

LAWN CARE MAINTENANCE SERVICES, LANDSCAPE ENHANCEMENTS AND RELATED WORK at VARIOUS AMHA LIPH LOCATIONS WITHIN SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO 

  • Bid Package #1 – William E. Fowler, 681 Payne Avenue, Bon Sue, Saferstein Towers 1, Saferstein Towers 2 
  • Bid Package #2 – Pinewood Gardens 

Bidders may bid on as many or as few of the bid packages as desired. Separate contracts will be awarded for each bid package.

NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT FOR AFFIRMATIVE ACTION TO ENSURE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT (Governor’s Order of January 27, 1972)

Bidders’ attention is called to the provision for “EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY CLAUSE” and the “STANDARD FEDERAL EQUAL EMPLOYMENT CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT SPECIFICATIONS”. The goals, timetables, compliance and regulations set for in the Executive Order deemed part of this solicitation by reference.

Each bidder must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.

Payment for labor as it applies to this work shall not be less than the amount established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Bidder’s attention is further called to the provisions of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended (12 U.S.C. 1701u) (Section 3), and are required to comply with all requirements as relates to Section 3, including training and employment opportunities for Section 3 Residents and Business Concerns for this Section 3 covered project. 

The Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to re-advertise our bids, and to waive any informality in bids received whenever such rejections, re-advertisement or waiver is in the best interest of the Housing Authority.

No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority.
