(Columbus, Ohio) Thanksgiving Day Weekend is the LARGEST RETAIL SHOPPING WEEKEND OF THE YEAR! Yet, you’ll not find very many African American merchants as tenants or vendors at our major retail malls or large shopping centers.
Of note, the National Black Chamber of Commerce has estimated that at least 40% of Black-owned businesses have gone out of business due to the COVID pandemic.
This is a family friendly (2) two-day event Saturday, November 27th & Sunday, November 28th from 11:00am to 7:00pm both days, at the legendary Valley Dale Ballroom located on Sunbury Road. Admission and Parking is Absolutely FREE, and shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase artwork, apparel and clothing, beauty products, books, candles, Christmas crafts, and all sorts of unique gifts!
The idea of creating this cultural Black Christmas Expo is to support and give African American merchants and vendors an opportunity to CASH-IN on this significant Holiday Gift Buying Weekend to sell, display and/or promote their products and services to the greater community at large.
Thus far, there are 45-vendors who’ve signed up and excited for the opportunity to offer their goods and services to the community. Additionally, there will be entertainment, Christmas Carols sung, and a visit from “Soul Santa” to greet all of the good boys and girls who’ll love to have their pictures taken with him!
We still a few vendor spaces and sponsor opportunities available! You may contact C. Sunny Martin, the event organizer at Sunny@CSunnyMartin.com for more info.
