Free Webinar to Help Ohio Businesses Build Exports

International marketing can help businesses increase sales and provide stability during economic uncertainty. The Ohio Department of Development will focus on the basics of exporting in an online webinar on Wednesday, June 7.

The webinar is presented by the Ohio Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), which is a program within the Department of Development, and by the SBDC Export Assistance Network office at Cleveland State University.

“Part of our mission is empowering small businesses to succeed, and this webinar is designed to help businesses expand their customer base,” said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development. “Ohio products are known throughout the world for their high quality, and the world’s consumers are ready to buy Ohio exports.”

In addition to providing basics on starting or expanding export initiatives, the webinar will also cover the export resources available to businesses. Through the SBDC Export Assistance Network, which receives funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration, businesses can receive expert advice about selling products and services internationally. The Department of Development’s Office of Small Business and Global Trade also has programs that offer export-related grants, interns trained in exporting, and in-market representatives around the world.

The webinar will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, via Zoom. Register here.
