FBE Update: Why Black Women can’t get a City of Columbus FBE Certification

I placed calls to to Andy Ginther, Council President and Dan Williamson, Mayor Coleman’s spokesperson.  Both Ginther’s aide Ken and Williamson have suggested that I speak with Melinda Carter, the EBOC Director.  The issue isn’t with Melinda’s office. She is only following what the city code says.  (Did they really push this off on a Black woman to respond to and fix?)

What legislation has been introduced by A. Troy Miller, Small & Minority Business Chair and candidate for re-election, to fix the problem of the City of Columbus not recognizing Black women as women?  He was notified of this issue 3 years ago.

All other women of color can select their gender over their race.  Lack of access is lack of opportunity.  I will keep you posted.  I feel a petition coming on!

Just my thoughts…
