Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (CZA or Owner) will be receiving sealed bid proposals from GC Contractors for the Ohio Center for Wildlife Conservation project. The General Contractor (GC) will be responsible for directly overseeing all the trades required to complete the work in their Contract.

The intent of this Project, Ohio Center for Wildlife Conservation located at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium at 4850 W. Powell Road, Powell, OH 43065. Scope of Work includes interior and exterior renovations to the existing 4,000SF building, currently named Habitat Hollow. Construction is anticipated to be pursued through a Single Prime GC Contract.
Generally, the project consists of civil and landscaping, demolition, reconfiguration/addition of interior partitions, ceilings, lighting, floor/wall finishes, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and technology systems. The Contractor shall be responsible for the procurement, installation/fabrication, and coordination of all life support systems and interpretive design components.

Pre-Bid Meeting & Site Visit: Meet at the front gate of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, 4850 W. Powell Road, Powell, OH 43065.

All bid proposals will be opened privately.
All bid proposals shall be made on the Bid Proposal Form.
The successful contractor shall be required to execute the Contract Form (as contained in the Project Manual, with no exceptions taken) and furnish Payment and Performance Bonds, current General Liability Insurance listing Columbus Zoo and Aquarium as the Certificate holder, and current Worker’s Compensation Certificate. See Supplementary Conditions for descriptions. All bonds shall be in force and insurance certificates shall be in hand before the contractor will be allowed to mobilize onto the project site. A letter of Intent and Notice to Proceed will precede the formal signing of the Contract.
