Making Connections that Matter: May OhioMBE Procurement Fair Recap

On May 8, diverse entrepreneurs from across the state gathered at the newly opened Bob Crane Community Center in Upper Arlington for the May OhioMBE Procurement Fair — an afternoon filled with connections, conversations, and contracting opportunities.

Hosted by the City of Upper Arlington, the event brought together small businesses and public/private sector organizations committed to expanding supplier diversity. Attendees had the opportunity to meet one-on-one in 15-minute matchmaking appointments, allowing them to introduce their products and services directly to decision-makers.

We extend our sincere thanks to the participating organizations who helped make this event a success:

  • ✅ City of Upper Arlington
  • ✅ Franklin County
  • ✅ State of Ohio
  • ✅ Columbus Airports
  • ✅ Columbus City Schools
  • ✅ Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority
  • ✅ Pepper Construction
  • ✅ Ruscilli Construction
  • ✅ Ohio State University Medical Center

“These fairs are more than networking — they’re about access, opportunity, and creating wealth in our communities,” said Ronda Watson Barber, publisher of OhioMBE and organizer of the event.

OhioMBE remains committed to creating intentional spaces where Black, minority, and women-owned businesses can thrive by connecting with organizations seeking diverse vendors.
