Columbus business helping women owned businesses in Ghana

Destiny Ma’at Hotep Daniels owner of Sankofa Love Designs is using her business to help other women business owners miles away.  The Columbus micro-enterprise begin working with the CEO of Remi African, an organization that works with young mothers in Ghana. The women make clothes and beaded jewelry and send them to the U.S. to help support themselves and their children. The jewelry ranges from $5 up to $100 and is made with glass, stones and shells. The items are for sale in Destiny’s boutique at 1030 Alum Creek Drive—Columbus.

“We work with this group because it is a great way for our people here to connect with their African heritage by purchasing items from African and we love the fact the money helps mothers and children in need.,” said Ms. Daniels.  “It’s amazing how something so simple as buying a bracelet can help someone you may never meet on the other side of the world. “

Her shop is currently filled with hand crocheted and knitted items designed by Ms. Daniels.  She also sell raw unrefined Shea butter,  raw black African soap and 100% pure grade A fragrance oils. The store carries a line of all natural skin care products that help with acne, eczema and psoriasis.
