Happy Thanksgiving

It’s that time of the year again.  The holidays are coming.  Family, friends, food, fellowship and fun are appropriate words used to describe the festive holiday season.  As Americans we have a lot to be thankful for.  We live in the greatest country.  We are afforded the opportunity to live out our dreams.  We can worship freely.  We can vote.  We can start and own businesses.

As the publisher of the The 912 Group, I celebrate this special time of the year.   On a personal note, I am thankful for the love and support of my family and great friends.  These festive times also give me the opportunity to appreciate and express my gratitude to those I have worked with.  I am truly thankful to our readers and the organizations that advertise in The 912 Group’s media outlets.

As the host of the OhioMBE Procurement Fairs, I appreciate  the organizations that have participated in the year-long monthly business match-makers.  The goal of the OhioMBE Procurement Fairs is to introduce small and minority owned businesses to companies/organizations.   The mission of the OhioMBE Procurement Fairs is to “Make New Connections”.

The following organizations have shown their commitment  to reaching out to small businesses and fostering  a diverse pool of vendors:  Smoot Construction, Gilbane Construction, Thomas & Marker Construction, Robertson Construction, Walsh Construction, Ohio Dept. of Public Safety, Gahanna City Schools, Columbus City Schools, ODOT, Kokosing Construction, Franklin County, Ohio State University, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, OhioHealth, City of Columbus Recreation & Parks, Greater Columbus Convention Center, Ohio Dept. of Rehabilitation & Corrections, Columbus State Community College, COTA, The City of Canton, Ohio Job & Family Services, Community Properties of Ohio, Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, City of Columbus Dept. of Utilities and the Columbus Zoo.

On behalf of the 50 small and minority owned businesses, from across the state,  who have participated in the OhioMBE Procurement  Fairs in 2014, we are thankful for your gift of time and commitment to small business.

Small business is good business.

Happy Thanksgiving! – rwb
