Michael Cudgel selected as SBA Minority Small Business Champion of the Year

Michael Cudgel, owner of Haz Technologies, will be the recipient of the 15th annual Small Business Administration  Minority Small Business Champion of the Year.

Mr. Cudgel began his career in the IT field working for “The Geek Squad” of Best Buy, after completion of his undergraduate degree. While working for the company, Mr. Cudgel learned the value and importance of not only providing his clients with great technical support but also excellent customer service; he was rated among the top members of “The Geek Squad” for technical expertise and customer service. He received several promotions while at Best Buy including a promotion to manager at the age of 24. After working for the company for two years, Mr. Cudgel left to begin Haz Technologies, LLC.

HAZ technologies has an emphasis on next generation technology such as the App development, cloud technology and assisting firms migrate from XP environments to windows 7/server 2008 and on.

Mr. Cudgel is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Findlay, where he received a B.S. in Computer Science with an emphasis in Technology Management. Mr. Cudgel understands the value of hard work; he financed 100% of his education and living expenses while attending the University of Findlay. As a successful young entrepreneur, Mr. Cudgel understands the challenges associated with trying to establish a business, thus he actively mentors and hires young black males in his company in an effort to offer them exposure to the IT industry and owning a small business.

The awards dinner will be held on  May 5 at The Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City.
