Early voting has begun.  There are options to cast your vote.  You can vote at your local board of elections.  Or you can request an absentee ballot, complete it and have it postmarked by Election Day.  Election Day is November 3.  The polls will be open from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm.

I cannot stress the importance of participating in this vital component of democracy.  Your vote matters and your vote is important.

There is a lot a stake in the upcoming election.  Columbus, the is electing a new mayor, members to the city council, and members of the school board.  These positions impact our daily lives.  These elected positions are responsible for a lot of money. Columbus City Schools has a budget of $1 BILLION dollars.  The City of Columbus had an operating budget of $807 million in 2014.  Are the people responsible for these dollars receptive to your needs? Has your neighborhood been forgotten?  Are they doing business with Black businesses?  Are they looking out for you are is it really a pay to play system? Are they accessible to you at times other than the campaign season?

You vote can make a difference.  Let your opinion be heard.

The Secretary of State has launched an online resource for the three statewide issues appearing on the November ballot. Accessible via MyOhioVote.com, voters can view an educational video, ballot language, explanations and arguments for and against each issue. This web page also provides easy access to websites for proponents and opponents of each issue if available.
