Tour will focus on voter registration, GOTV in battleground state’

Ohio State Rep Alicia Reece, President of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus (OLBC) announced  that the OLBC will launch and Voter Action Tour focused on organizing African American voters in OH through voter registration and mobilization.  While final plans for the tour will be announced soon, she said.  The tour will hit every place from barber & beauty shops to churches and entertainment and sporting events.

“We had a historic convention. We made history for women in our country and Hillary gave a powerful speech of moving our country forward.  Now we have to hit the streets and deliver the vote because too much is on the line and we will not go back to the pre-civil rights era,” says Rep. Reece who also served as Vice Chair of the DNC Convention.

“We must elect Hillary as President but we must also give her a team to work with in local, state, and federal offices. Millions of voters have been purged in OH and therefore we must be aggressive in voter registration and mobilization.”

OLBC held its 2016 convention entitled  “The Power of the Black Vote” where hundreds from across the discussed important issues affecting African Americans families in OH.

Rep. Reece said stops will be made in the districts of the members of OLBC.
