Unique Services Logistics (USL) is an Ohio based company, owned and operated by Wanda Curry-Shepard, CFE and partners. With two locations in Columbus, USL specializes in the Flat-Bed and Refrigerated local and Over-The-Road truck transportation.
Although we are a small, woman/disabled Veteran/Minority owned corporation, we have been making a powerful impact around the U.S. since 2009. We are a team of professionals with licenses and expertise in various fields, who have came together to bring awareness of how logistics touches every industry and is the backbone of our economy.
USL’s brokerage Firm (USBF) is a brokerage firm which arranges truck transportation for companies throughout the United States. In addition, USBL purchases and stores freight for their clients to be used or resold to other organizations.
USL’s Workforce Development Division serves veterans, ex-offenders, and youth who are in need of job readiness preparation to obtain full time sustainable employment. Participants can receive On-the-Job Training, Industry recognized credentials, direct hire opportunities, temp-to-hire opportunity with our employer partners, and transportation to and from work if they qualify.
For individuals who would like formal education, USL offers six programs related to the logistics industry through their licensed career college; Unique Services Logistics Career Academy. This is a low cost alternative to a two or four year degree and individuals who successfully complete their course will be well prepared for a career in the Logistics Industry.
About the President and CEO
Wanda has trained individuals in Entrepreneurial, Professional and Technical positions. While supervising at the Franklin County Municipal Clerk of Courts, she crossed-trained her staff in various positions which positioned them for career advancements within the court system, several of which are still employed there.
In 2004, Ms. Wanda started two businesses, Unique Services, LLC and The Professional Bail Bond Group, Inc. While recognizing the need to be self-sufficient, she continued her own education and obtained numerous certificates and degrees. She currently holds the Professional Designation of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting with a minor in Healthcare Management degree from Franklin University; Associates of Applied Science in Accounting Degree and Bookkeeping Certificate from Columbus State Community College. She is a Licensed Insurance agent in Property, Casualty, Life, Health, and Surety bail bonds for the State of Ohio. She holds other certifications, including certified grant writer.
Wanda Curry-Shepard is married to Darnell Shepard and has two children, Alexis and Raymond.
