City of Newark 2013 CONCRETE MAINTENANCE, CONCRETE CURB, RAMPS, & SIDEWALKS bid

ADVERTISEMENT  

Sealed proposals for providing all labor, equipment, and materials for the 2013 CONCRETE MAINTENANCE, CONCRETE CURB, RAMPS, & SIDEWALKS (Partially funded by HUD Entitlement Funds) will be received by the Director of Public Service of the City of Newark, Ohio, at his office in the Municipal Building until 12:00 o’clock noon, local time, THURSDAY, MAY 16, 2013, and at that time and in that building will be publicly opened and read.

 

The estimated project cost as of April 2013, is $250,000.00. 

 

The preparation and submission of the proposals, the award and the execution of the contract, and all work and materials shall conform to the “City of Newark, Ohio, Construction and Material Specifications , August 1, 1990, which supplement the “State of Ohio Department of Transportation Construction and Material Specifications , January 1, 2010.  Portions of the work shall be governed by the supplemental and technical specifications in the contract documents.

 

Copies of the specifications and contract documents are on file at the office of the Director of Public Service of the City of Newark, Ohio, and are available for inspection by the prospec­tive bidders.  Copies of the specifications and contract documents may be ordered from the City of Newark, Division of Engineering, at a non-refundable cost of $20.00 per set.

 

The “State of Ohio, Department of Transportation, Construction and Material Specifications”, January 1, 2012, may be viewed on the Internet at www.dot.state.oh.us.  The “City of Newark Construction and Material Specifications”, August 1, 1990, cost $5.00 and may be ordered from The City of Newark, Division of Engineering.  If any of the foregoing is mailed, a postage and handling charge of $15.00 will be added to the other non-refundable charges. 

Proposals must be submitted on the Proposal Forms contained in the Proposal Booklet.  The Proposal must be accompanied by a bid guaranty as required by Section 153.54 of The Ohio Revised Code.  The bid guaranty shall be either in the form of a Bid Guaranty Bond for the full amount of the bid or a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Letter of Credit, pursuant to Chapter 1305 of The Ohio Revised Code, in an amount equal to ten (10%) per cent of the bid.  In the event one of the latter three forms of bid guaranty is submitted, then a Contract Performance Bond equal to the amount of the contract must be provided at the time of entering the contract.

Attention of the bidders is called to the Special Provisions that are included in the Proposal Booklet regarding the City of Newark, Income Tax.  Particular attention is called to the statutory requirements of the State of Ohio relative to licensing of corporations organized under the laws of any other state. 

The bidder will be required to state in full detail on his proposal his experience in this class of work and bids from contractors inexperienced in this particular class of work will not be considered.  The right is reserved by the City to reject any and all bids and to award contracts by parts or groups of parts. 

The Completion Date for this project shall be as indicated in the Proposal.  The Completion Date Sheet in the Proposal must be signed or the accompanying bid will be found irregular.
