[COLUMBUS-OH] In an ongoing effort to engage our Columbus City School students, Councilmember Emmanuel V. Remy and Columbus City Council want to put a face on its litter reduction campaign. Council is launching a Cleaner Columbus Litter Mitigation Campaign mascot contest.

Second and third place prizes of $500 each will also be awarded. All entries must be submitted by May 24, 2019, by 11:59pm. For more information visit: www.columbus.gov/mascot-contest/
“We want to heighten awareness and reduce litter throughout our neighborhoods and city streets,” said Councilmember Remy. “What better way to do that than with a mascot to help spread the message in a fun way.”
The mascot should represent one or more of the following themes:
- Pride in My City: I am proud to call Columbus my home, and I want to ensure that my city shines for all to see.
- Green and Clean: Cleaning up litter helps to preserve our environment by keeping waste out of our rivers and parks.
- The “Litter” of the Law: We respect the laws of our city, and litter is against the rules.
“As a parent of three Columbus City Schools students, I know the talent and creativity that is in our buildings and I want to support them,” Remy continued.
This contest is open to any Columbus City School student. Submissions can be sent mailed, emailed* to email@example.com or delivered to Columbus City Council, Attn: Mascot Contest, 90 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215
