 Sewers & Drains Regulatory Compliance Manager 

This full-time Sewers & Drains Regulatory Compliance Manager position will be responsible for overseeing the Wastewater Surveillance Laboratory, Industrial Pretreatment Section, the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant laboratory, and the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant Laboratory. These programs are all critical to the health and welfare of the City by ensuring regulatory compliance with regulations and applicable permits.   This position will supervise, establish, maintain, and implement processes, procedures, and documentation to assist all operations in maintaining full compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, permit requirements and conditions, and City policy.  The position will monitor and ensure all departmental reporting requirements, certifications, reports, and notifications are completed and filed in accordance with regulatory requirements. Maintain knowledge of legislative and regulatory changes directly applicable to the division of Sewers and Drains and in coordination with the Department of Public Utilities Regulatory Management Section. Work directly with their supervised staff to ensure their sections’ operational and personnel needs are being met.  Review and approve operating budgets of the supervised groups, and assist with or manage special projects as assigned.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience regulating or ensuring regulatory compliance in an industry that is subject to significant environmental regulations. Substitution(s): A master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. A doctoral or law degree in a relevant field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. Also, possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. The salary range for this position is: $83,346 – $125,008 annually.
