Community Relations Coordinator (Community Outreach Coordinator)

As part of Mayor Ginther’s Equity Agenda, Sustainable Columbus seeks to expand Climate Action and other planning through equitable engagement and co-creation in Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and other marginalized communities. This full-time position will monitor and manage the implementation of the Columbus Climate Action plan.   Interact with City officials, community leaders, and members of the general public to assist with and lead equitable engagement efforts to develop and implement Sustainable Columbus goals for promoting sustainability and environmental justice and dismantling environmental racism. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders for Sustainable Columbus. Make presentations and otherwise provides information for community and civic organizations designed to educate citizens about diversity, inclusion, and equity; Sustainable Columbus programs, policies, proposals, and projects; and other issues related to sustainability.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in public or community relations. Substitution(s): A master’s degree in one (1) of the above fields may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. They must also possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. The salary range is $52,915 – $79,352 annually.
