“CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL IN HONOR OF NELSON MANDELA”

The Federation of African Organizations in Ohio (FAOO) cordially invites you to its “Candlelight Memorial in Honor of Nelson Mandela.” As you know, Nelson Mandela—anti-Apartheid freedom fighter, civil rights activist, former President of the Republic of South Africa and global icon—passed away on December 5, 2013, at the ripe old age of 95.

The whole world is mourning and celebrating his life. On the one hand, the world mourns Mandela’s death because no one wants such a powerfully positive person and spirit to leave our otherwise cold and brutish world. On the other hand, we are all grateful to Nelson Mandela for the wonderful work he did in South Africa and the world.

The FAOO “Candlelight Memorial in Honor of Nelson Mandela,” will feature a two-hour program in which 95 Candles, representing each year Mandela spent on this earth will be lighted by a variety of individuals from various works of life in his honor.

The two ways we can best honor the life and passing of this wonderful man, is by positive emulation and glorious remembrance; guarantees that the spirit and values the person stood for, worked for and died for, never dies!
