Harry Colson has served as interim deputy director/state Equal Employment Opportunity coordinator of the Equal Opportunity Division of the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) since November 2013. Prior to that he served as manager of Analysis and Operations for the DAS Office of Collective Bargaining.

Employed by the State of Ohio since 1995, Colson also has worked in fiscal, budget and management positions for the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wilberforce University, Wilberforce.

The mission of the DAS Equal Opportunity Division is to advocate and assist on behalf of Ohio’s minority and socially disadvantaged businesses and work to align those businesses with state government contract and procurement opportunities. The division also oversees and monitors state agency actions pertaining to the fair treatment and equal employment opportunities for state employees and applicants for state employment. Further, the objectives and goals of the Equal Opportunity Division are to increase the utilization of certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and certified Encouraging Diversity, Growth and Equity (EDGE) businesses and ensure that all state contractors are complying with EEO/construction compliance regulations, and that all state agencies are adhering to the state’s affirmative action mandates for contracting and employment.
