I just got off the phone with Susan Brehm in the President’s Office at COSI (The Center of Science and Industry). I am appalled and totally taken back at the conversation. I called to extend an invitation to participate in the OhioMBE Procurement Fair. Repeated emails to Diversity Coordinator have gone unanswered. Mrs. Brehm rudely indicated “We don’t buy anything.” I told her “Of course you do. Toilet paper, office supplies, science equipment, science displays. The Procurement Fair is a great way to introduce your purchasing needs to small & minority owned businesses.” Her repeated response. “We are not interested.” She wouldn’t let me speak with the President of COSI –David Chesebrough. “We are not interested.”
Perhaps small & minority businesses shouldn’t be interested in supporting COSI. They clearly are not interested in diversity and inclusion.
