Williams named to head Ohio Department of Commerce
Gov. John R. Kasich announced that he has named Jacqueline T. Williams to lead the Ohio Department of Commerce. Williams currently serves as chief of the Minority Business Development Division in the Ohio Development Services Agency (DSA). She replaces Andre T. Porter who Kasich appointed to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) on February 20, 2015.
She previously was executive director of the Ohio Liquor Control Commission and the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority and was chief administrative officer for the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
The Department of Commerce contains divisions dealing with financial institutions, securities, industrial compliance, liquor control, real estate, unclaimed funds and the state fire marshal’s office.
