National ‪#‎NAACP‬ Cancels Branch Elections in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus

(Columbus, OH) – “Per the directive of the National Board of Directors the National Office is responsible for conducting the elections for Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati Branches”, stated Rev. Gil Ford, National Director of Unit Administration for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in a statement sent to the Ohio Conference NAACP on May 14, 2015.

This comes after the Ohio Conference NAACP sent approved written communications to the inactive Branches to conduct the elections for the three major cities. The National office will be responsibility for the Branches.

The National Office because of pending litigation in Cincinnati has halted the election previously scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2015.

The Ohio Conference NAACP regrets any confusion this action may cause the Cleveland and Columbus membership. “This year long process has hindered the activities of this organization”, stated Ohio Conference NAACP President Sybil Edwards-McNabb who acted under the direction of the National Membership Committee.

Please direct all inquiries regarding this and other communications regarding Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus to Rev. Gill Ford, National Director of Unit Administration at 410-404-1408 or email GFord@naacpnet.org or the National NAACP office and request the COO.
