Get Motivated and Inspired at the OhioMBE Awards

ohiombe logoThe OhioMBE Awards will salute minority and female businesses and their advocates with a luncheon on Oct. 28 at the Vault, 35 E. Gay Street.

State Rep. Alicia Reece (D-Cincinnati) who will receive the Top Elected MBE Advocate Award will speak on the importance of advocacy.  As president of the Ohio Black Legislative Caucus, Reece was instrumental in working with Governor John Kasich and his administration to exceed the state’s mandated MBE purchasing goals. Bobbie Bell, Program Administrator in the Equal Opportunity Division will be recognized as Top MBE Government Advocate.

Other awards to be presented include Top MBE, Publisher’s Award, Frank W. Watson Advocate Award and People’s Choice for Top MBE, FBE and Business Advocate.  The voting for the People’s Choice award is open through Oct. 21.  You can vote at http://svy.mk/1L4Vski

A portion of proceeds will benefit the Frank W. Watson Scholarship.  The scholarship will be awarded to a Columbus East High School student athlete who will be attending college or vocational school.

Donations to the Frank W. Watson Scholarship can be sent to P.O. Box 533, Granville, OH  43023.  Donations can also be made at any Park National Bank.
