Because of helpful dialogue and insight provided to me by many of you, and by my staff, I am pleased to notify all businesses certified with the City of Columbus through the new Office of Diversity and Inclusion that a Request for Proposal (RFP) was published on Monday September 19, 2016 by the City of Columbus for a Disparity Study.
I believe in equal opportunity for all, particularly when it comes to doing business with the City of Columbus. The Disparity Study is an important step in ensuring a level playing field.
The Disparity Study process can take up to 12 months to complete. While the Disparity Study is in process, my Administration plans to take other actions that will help increase the utilization of small, minority and female owned businesses in the provision of goods and services to the City of Columbus. I look forward to working with all of you to accomplish this goal.
