Rodney Kent to sit on panel at Micro-Enterprise Conference

rodneyRodney Kent works for the Franklin County Commissioner’s in the Purchasing Department where he serves as the Small and Emerging Business Coordinator. For the past 26 years Mr. Kent has been providing technical assistance to small business owners by providing insight into: HOW TO DO BUSINESS WITH FRANKLIN COUNTY, its agencies, boards, commissions, and elected office holders. Mr. Kent is responsible for making sure there is a level playing field allowing small, emerging, female, and minority businesses the opportunity to compete for government contracts in Franklin County.

 

Mr. Kent is a graduate of Bliss College.  After graduation Mr. Kent returned to his amateur to become the Men’s Head Basketball Coach.  Five years later he was named the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Columbus State Community College, (then called Columbus Technical Institute).  Mr. Kent has served on the: Driving Park Library Board, Franklin County Animal Shelter Board, Columbus Regional Minority Supplier Development Council Board, and the Columbus International Programs Board, Mr. Kent has also served as a volunteer for the East 5th Avenue  Area Commission and the Friends of Freedom (Ohio Underground Railroad Society).

He is the proud father of 3 sons: Jason, Anthony, and Jordan.  He currently volunteers as the boys AAU coach for the Ohio Hoopsters.
