Community Relations Coordinator (Environmental Justice Advocate)
As part of Mayor Ginther’s Equity Agenda, Sustainable Columbus seeks to expand Climate Action and other planning through equitable engagement and co-creation in Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and other marginalized communities. This full-time position will directly engage with internal and external stakeholders. This will include but is not limited to residents, organizations, businesses, and government entities in support of Sustainable Columbus policies, programs, and initiatives. This position will evaluate and make recommendations to ensure Sustainable Columbus centers and leads with diversity, inclusion, and equity. It will convene, facilitate, staff, and otherwise support stakeholder engagement activities. It will also conduct research using appropriate methodologies to identify systemic discrimination; and assist with developing and implementing equity and sustainability training modules for the community, staff, and other stakeholders.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in public or community relations. Substitution(s): A master’s degree in one (1) of the above fields may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. They must also possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. The salary range is $52,915 – $79,352 annually.
