Ohio Business Development Center Celebrates Success of “Empower & Build” Series During Black History Month

The Ohio Business Development Center (OBDC), a beacon of support and resource for small businesses, is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its “Empower & Build” training series held in celebration of Black History Month. Exceeding expectations, the series aimed to engage 50 businesses but proudly saw participation from 75 enthusiastic attendees.

The “Empower & Build” series was designed to fortify small and minority businesses with the knowledge and tools necessary for growth and success. Covering a diverse range of topics including Certification 101, Real World Estimating Tips, How to do Business With Franklin County, Mastering Media Releases and Advisories, and Creating Wealth with Real Estate, the series offered invaluable insights and strategies to the participants. OBDC also sponsored the February OhioMBE Procurement Fair.

Reflecting on the program’s success, Ronda Watson Barber, Executive Director of OBDC and a stalwart advocate for minority businesses, stated, “Our ‘Empower & Build’ series this February was a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of Black History Month, aimed at not just celebrating but actively contributing to the growth and empowerment of our business community. The overwhelming response and engagement from 75 attendees is a testament to the hunger for knowledge, development, and success within our community. This success propels us forward, reminding us of the impact we can create when we come together to support and uplift one another.”
