2024 maps can be ordered for free online or picked up at rest areas
COLUMBUS – Governor Mike DeWine today announced that the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is now distributing 1.4 million copies of Ohio’s new state map highlighting the “Ohio, The Heart of it All” tourism brand.
“Our state map is a gateway to all things Ohio,” said Governor DeWine. “Our new map is about more than just our roads, it’s a tool we can use to showcase all we have to offer in Ohio the Heart of It All!”
Ohio’s new state map, which debuted at the 2024 Ohio State Fair, features the latest road changes, updated routes, and points of interest to help travelers navigate Ohio with ease. Designed for both local residents and tourists, the map provides essential information on highways, byways, and notable destinations.
The 2024 map contains photos of attractions, families enjoying the outdoors, and notable locations in the state. It also lists facts about the state, contact information for the Ohio State Highway Patrol, information on Ohio’s distracted driving law, and reminders to move over and slow down for roadside workers.
Members of the public can pick up a free copy of the map at one of the state’s rest areas or order a free copy on ODOT’s website.
“Online navigation services can go offline. Cell service can drop. It’s always smart to have hard copy back-up in your vehicle with you,” said ODOT Director Jack Marchbanks. “Whether you are taking your family to explore one of our state’s beautiful parks or attractions, planning a business trip, or need to plot the best route to get from point A to point B, Ohio’s new state map will get you there.”
The new maps were printed by RR Donnelly in Macedonia, Ohio.
The first official state map was published in 1912.
