The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the appointment of Catrena Cannon as its new Vice President of Diversity, Culture, and Inclusion. In her role, Cannon will spearhead initiatives aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the Chamber and the broader Columbus community.
With a distinguished career in DEI, Cannon brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new position. She previously served as the Workforce Diversity Manager within the City of Columbus Mayor’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, where she played a pivotal role in advancing Mayor Andrew Ginther’s equity agenda. Cannon was instrumental in developing and implementing systemwide DEI performance metrics and strategic plans across 14 city departments. Her efforts included hosting regional Govern DEI symposiums, launching the inaugural employee engagement survey, and establishing five Employee Resource Groups, all contributing to a more inclusive and equitable work environment.
In her new role with the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Cannon will focus on driving DEI initiatives, fostering inclusive practices, and engaging diverse stakeholders. Her ability to cultivate meaningful partnerships and drive community engagement will be vital in advancing the Chamber’s commitment to creating an equitable business environment in Columbus.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Cannon enjoys spending time with her family, including her 11-year-old daughter, Rhyan Evelyn, her Godchildren, Kierra and Isaiah, and her pet, Braxton. Her commitment to her family reflects the same dedication she brings to her professional role.
